HI! I'M KIRSTIN GILES LENFESTY.
I am an artist based in Calgary, holding a BFA from AUArts with a specialization in sculpture. As a proud mom to a daughter (9) and son (6), their boundless curiosity and creativity inspired me to establish this art studio. What began as playdates and birthday parties centred around process art activities for my children and their friends blossomed into a heartfelt mission to share the joys and benefits of process based art play and arts education with more families.

Supported wholeheartedly by my loving husband, I've delved deeper into art education as my children started school. My daughter, at the tender age of 7, recognized my talent for connecting with children through art and pushed me to put myself out there when she initiated my first volunteer gig by impressing upon her second grade teacher that she should invite me into the classroom to teach the class art. Through that experience and continued volunteer efforts at my children's school over the past 3 years, I have collaborated with teachers and worked with students to forge meaningful connections between art and curricular based learning outcomes. For me, art is not just about technique-it's about exploring concepts, self expression, embracing a wide range of materials and understanding art within contemporary and historical contexts.
Art has always been my compass, guiding me through life, connecting me to myself, others and the world around me. I believe passionately that through art and process-based education, we can nurture children into creative, confident and empathetic individuals. By fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills and mental well-being, we empower young minds to flourish in today's world.

Join me at Bug and Bean Mobile Art Studio as we embark on a journey of discovery, creativity and growth together. Let's inspire the next generation of artists and thinkers to explore, create and thrive. And where through creative process, a journey to understand more deeply is taken and every artwork is a testament to the beauty of imagination.
